Our Story

Founded by Sharon Scott, a passionate Mahjong teacher with over eight years of professional experience, 8 Flowers Mahjong offers expertise in American Mah Jongg and multiple styles of Chinese Mahjong, including Traditional, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwanese.

Sharon’s love for the game began in childhood, playing with her grandparents and brother, and has grown into a lifelong commitment to sharing Mahjong with others. Known for her welcoming, engaging, and patient teaching style, Sharon not only instructs the game but also explores its rich history, continually learning and sharing her knowledge to enhance the experience for her students. She focuses on creating a sense of community and fun around the game.

Sharon is dedicated to making Mahjong accessible and enjoyable for everyone, whether they're new to the game or seasoned players looking to refine their skills. She believes that Mahjong is a historic game with a very modern presence. Sharon hopes it can bring people together, creating new traditions for friends and family.
